The company and its staff are to satisfy quality clients with rigging services and equipment maintained to the highest possible health and safety standards

Health & Safety

Health and Safety is a determining issue in all operational matters and colours every part of our service delivery. The responsibilities for managing Health and Safety are outlined in the Outback Health and Safety Manual. No one is without responsibility for Health and Safety and we encourage a culture of H&S concern throughout our business.

Outback owns a substantial stock of heavy duty and lightweight rigging equipment, several hundred electric chain hoists and approximately two kilometres of trussing. A large and properly maintained stock of equipment is essential for the efficient performance of any contract. As a major hire and installation company we operate a fast asset turnaround incorporating a full inspection process between goods in and goods out.

The company has developed internal control systems to ensure that equipment is maintained, tested and certified, adopting HSE recommended best practice. Maintenance engineers are trained to LIFTING EQUIPMENT ENGINEERS ASSOCIATION test and inspection standards and provide both internal and external certification facilities. All equipment is inspected and tested in accordance with the LOLER Regulations and a full history of over 15,000 items of rigging kit is maintained on our computer system. Inventory histories are linked to the order processing system thus preventing the despatch of untested or out of date equipment.

Test and Inspection systems are independently audited twice a year.

A recent third party inspector reported H&S record keeping as “exceptional”

The company retains a permanent advisor on Health and Safety with the following qualifications: -

Advanced Certificate in Environmental Health.
